Bee School Enrollment through: Ann Arbor Backyard Beekeepers Club
I am the lead instructor for the Bee School at the Ann Arbor Backyard Beekeepers club. (A2B2) I teach both a Beginner and Intermediate course. The Beginner Course is set up to help guide the novice beekeeper through their first season of keeping bees. The course covers timely topics throughout the season. This hands-on class meets monthly from February through October covering subjects from assembling hives on our club build day to installing your bees, maintaining them throughout the season then preparing them for winter.
The Intermediate Course takes a more in-depth approach and is designed for beekeepers whom have successfully overwintered their bees and have at least one season's experience. Topics range from bee biology, to raising queens, making splits, processing and selling honey and having strong, healthy and balanced hives.
Classes meet one Sunday a month and include both a classroom lecture setting and outdoor field application (weather permitting).
Enrollment starts in January for A2B2 Club members.
