Intermediate Bee School 2020 Schedule
All INTERMEDIATE classes will be Sundays, 2pm – 5pm, EXCEPT the equipment build on March 28, which is a Saturday.
2020 Dates:
February 16 – Equipment needs / dealing with dead-outs / questions from last year / goal-setting
March 8 – Early spring management / feeding options / building up bee population in preparation for the honey flow / honey tasting
March 28 (Saturday) – Equipment build day. IMPORTANT: RSVP is required!
April 19 – Varroa science / Varroa management strategies / early season splits / basic queen-rearing techniques
May 3 – Pests and pathogens / comb production / free bees: swarms, swarm traps, and cut-outs
June 14 – Honey plants / supering for honey production
July 12 – Late season splits / honey removal
August 16 – Fall management / disease control / combining hives
September 20 – Fall management / preparing for winter
October 11 – Winter management / preparing for spring
